About Our Pastor

Pastor Bill CooperPastor Bill Cooper has been our Pastor since June of 2011. His undergraduate work was a BS in Mass Communications at Towson University. His seminary work includes an M.Div and D.Min in Practical Theology from Antietam Biblical Seminary and a M.A. in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty Theological Seminary. He is currently working on a M.Div. in Chaplaincy from Liberty Theological Seminary. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and the International Society of Christian Apologetics (ISCA). He has been happily married to his wife Hilary since 2000.

Before coming to Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor Bill served for 7 years as the Youth Pastor and Director of Youth and Children at Paramount Baptist Church in Hagerstown, Maryland. It was also at Paramount that Pastor Bill was ordained in 2006 as a Southern Baptist Minister.

He was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior when he was about eight years old. When he was thirteen he rededicated his life to the Lord. As a young teenager, Bill felt God calling him to be a pastor and to preach God’s Word. After going his own route, God started closing doors on him and reminding him that He called Bill to preach. He finally listened to God’s call, enrolled in seminary, was called to the youth ministry position, and now looks forward to how God will use him here at Calvary.
